The RRV barrel tasting is this weekend, and given that the weather doesn’t seem to want to cooperate, it should be a fairly uncrowded affair.
There are many, many wineries taking part, but I’m limiting my tasting to Pinot noir. I’ve listed the wineries allowing visitors a peak at their upcoming Pinot releases below. There are many highlights on the list, including beef tenderloin served at Sunce, and author Steve Heimoff signing his excellent book A Wine Journey along the Russian River at Siduri. Pellegrini has a very interesting 2005 - 2001 vertical Pinot tasting. Harvest Moon will have live Jazz, chocolate, cheese and fresh bread and olive oil, and Iron Horse will have gourmet popcorn. Nearly all promise some form of appetizer/food pairing.
