Tim over at Winecast is featuring wines (mostly pinot) from local Russian River producers and highlights two of my favorites at Moshin and J.
Moshin’s Lot 4 is especially good. The nose on the Lot 4 is so awesome, so floral and fruity, it makes you want to strap the glass to your head and wear it like an oxygen mask.
Yesterday I was over at J winery with the owner’s brother and tasted through a flight of their RR Pinots and was very impressed. They pair the wines well with little tapas, and their bubble room is a great place to spend an hour off your feet when wine tasting. Be forewarned that flights are a little pricey, but their pours are very generous. Reservations for the room are required, but you can also taste at the counter.
I love seeing our area get good reviews, and I especially like it when small producers (like Moshin) that I enjoy get the recognition their fantastic wines deserve.

I love the Russian River Valley Pinots and only wish I had some of the wines to re-taste before I recorded my podcast yesterday, particularly the Moshin Lot 4. Working from my cryptic short-hand four months later is challenging. I’d also like one of those glass straps you mentioned
Congrats on the Goosestep job by the way. I followed a link from a press realease to their site not too long ago and noticed that they had a podcast banner up. When I found out who was behind it, it all made perfect sense.
Glad everything has turned out for the better and that you’re able to carve out time to continue podcasting.
