Wine Tech

Posted on Monday 16 October 2006

More than ever wine and web seem to be mixing in new and interesting ways. Just recently Jeff Playter, the founder of RadCru, emailed me to let me know that an event dubbed Wine 2.0 will be taking place on Nov 8 at the Varnish Fine Art Gallery and Wine Bar. The goal of the conference (which coincides with the Web 2.0 conference happening just down the street at the Palace Hotel) is to network and discuss the ways wine producers, retailers and media are “using technology to change the way wine is marketed, sold or made.”

It looks like it will be an interesting affair not only for its focus but also for who will be attending: The good folks at Intertia will be there as will Stormhoek. El Jefe from Twisted Oak will be there waving a rubber chicken. Tom Wark, Alder from Vinography, the Appellation America folks as well as Bottle Notes and CrushPad will also be in attendance.

It should be a blast, I just hope I can rearrange my schedule (which calls for me to be up North in early Nov. ) to mix and mingle.

UPDATE: Here is the link to the Wine 2.0 website that I forgot to add. And thanks to El Jefe for correcting the date for me.
