Menu for Hope Closes In on $15,000

Posted on Thursday 14 December 2006

Less than a week in and Menu for Hope has already raised almost $15,000 for the UN World Food Programme. We’re off to a fantastic start and at this pace we should meet our goal of close to $40,000 for the hungry all across the world.

Help us keep the pace by purchasing a few raffle tickets. My lot WB04, is a great deal. 3 Russian River pinots valued at more than $120 for a $10 donation to charity? Bargain! What’s more I’ll also add the winner to our free samples list, so you’ll get a 4th bottle of Pinot when we release our inaugural vintage!

Your odds of winning are good: there have been just 15 entries placed for the raffle for the Pinot Noir 3 pack. A $40 donation to charity, the cost of just one of these wines, will currently give you a better than 20% chance of winning. Not too shabby!

To get your juices flowing, I’ll reveal the first bottle of mystery Pinot 3 pack (WB04) that you can bid on here:

Tom Dehlinger, the producer, is a Russian River legend and this is his latest release of the fantastic Goldridge Vineyard pinot. Goldridge refers to the sandy loam soils that bless the Valley in our area. The soil drains extremely well and helps to limit vigor in the vines, which is one of the keys to producing high quality pinot. The result is a delicious wine with concentrated flavors, but in Dehlinger’s case his wines are always crafted with an eye for balance and food pairing. Really good stuff.

I’ll be revealing the rest of the wines as the days march on, so check back often if you are holding out on bidding or if you are just curious.

Naw, screw that. Go give now!
